Dream Resonance Twister Drama Competition

Dated 2nd November 2012, The Academic Secretariat and Club ESZ of Kolej Ungku Omar (KUO), UKM organised an event known as Dream Resonance. This program was based on the English Language and was with intention to encourage others to speak English. Many talks and activities were held for this 2-day program. But on the night of 2nd November 2012, there was a competition between the secretariats at KUO in a Drama Competition. It had to be based on a Fairytale story or of an Arabian Night. The first night, all the secretariats competed to see which 5 teams were to qualify to the finals which was held on the 3rd of November. Alhamdulillah, my Secretariat of Supreme Council (MT) made it to the finals. We had to perform the same sketch we did of the night before. But we thought, since that most of the people had seen the sketch, why not we turn it up a notch. So we did.

On the 3rd of November, we were the last secretariat to perform for the judges. We'd seen the previous secretariats perform and most of them did so well. We knew we had to go all out that night. My team did it with our spontaneous script and our hilarious cast. Even though there were a few technical problems here in there, we managed to pull thru and win our first place trophy! All the hard work the crew and cast put into for creating the props and thinking up the best story line and all those late night practices we did surely paid off. But, that night, I had to say, most of us were having so much fun, I don't think we felt as pressured as we were before. Alhamdulillah. So, I'm gonna post the video of our performance with also the names of the cast and crew involved. Enjoy!

October meh?

Hello. Its been a month since I entered UKM. Wow! Exactly! So well, what can I say? Am I adjusting well here? Yes. Have I made new friends? Yes. Am I enjoying my studies? That is still under consideration. But over all, its been great living here. (despite the water problems, though) So..... well.... emm.... its... emm.... OCTOBER again! I always get this super hyperactive when it comes to October now don't I? Well, some of you might already know why. It was my birthday last week! Yeay! So well, it started of kinda dull since I had class from 8am till 4pm. So not cool! LOL. But later got to drive my car that le parents gave me. (Finally, my own car!) Had dinner with Bobby, Shah, Sam and Ajeep at Islamic Kitchen. Then parents took me to Secret Recipe for cake. I got numerous phone calls and text message that specific time from my Sekreteriat MT club members. They said tonight they had an important meeting and it was urgent that I should be there. At first I was like, 'this must be a trick' but then I thought, 'it might not be either'. So rushed back to UKM and sat there for the meeting. Then suddenly Ammar came out with a cake and I was like OMG how sweet of the MT(s) to do this for me! As they were singing, I was lost for words. When suddenly out of nowhere a bucket of flour, water and eggs were thrown over me. It was purely gross! But somewhat sweet of them to do so. Here lemme show you the photos. LOL

Overall a great birthday. Oh special thanks to Imran and Intan for celebrating it a day earlier with me since everyone else seemed to be kinda busy with classes. huhu

Now a few days back, the Sekreteriat MT again organised a trip to Broga Hills, Semenyih. Now I know this hill is quite famous with a few people who loves outdoor activities, so the group decided to do a hiking trip up Broga Hills on Monday, 8th of October. I slept at 1am that day and had to wake up around 245am. Drove 4 cars. (Oh I had to drive one of the cars which btw was manual! OMG) The hike up took us about 2 hours though. It was exhausting, tiring, excruciating but it was fun nonetheless. Didn't get to see the sunrise though since it was kinda cloudy that day. Great trip. Sure gonna be climbing up again soon. ;) and ofcourse, here are the photos :D

So much talking bout my Sekreteriat. I guess you can say, I've grown quite fond of them all. ♥ I have. ;)

Till the next post. See you soon Monsters xx

*Happy First Anniversary to my dearest Redzuan Hakiim. Alhamdulillah for the best 366 days shared

Keeping Up with The Typing Monster

Assalamualaikum and Hello everybody! Its been awhile hasn't it. Oh well, better to have written something than never to have written at all isn't it? So what have I been up to since these past few weeks? Well for one, settling into UKM of course. Its been 3weeks already. Wow! Time flies doesn't it. Lemme tell you what has happen.

1st week:
It was all about orientation. Getting to know him and her and she and he and they. I was also chosen to represent my college which is Kolej Ungku Omar btw, in the inter-college debate. It was in Malay btw so you can tell how sorta suckish it was for me to be all formal and proper without having to let my Manglish out. But it was fun though. Besides, my team won 10th place over 24 team that competed. Although we didn't make it to the quarter finals, being top 10 is something to be proud of. Oh btw I was the 2nd speaker throughout the whole debate so my job was to oppose points from the other side and give out 2 speeches to strengthen my side's stand. Won 2 out of the 3 rounds. :)
Besides that, I was mostly sick during orientation week. Poor restless body. LOL. But an unforgettable memory about orientation week was UKM's annual Perang Dectar. It has been known as a tradition for all 12 colleges in UKM to compete in a cheer off. This year they awarded the teams with the best cheers and well you guessed it, my college won 1st place eventhough we only consisted of 150 people. Imagine that! But during the unofficial Perang Dectar my college (KUO) was the 5th standing college to NOT leave DECTAR. We were against Kolej Ibrahim Yaakub, Kolej Pendeta Zaaba, Kolej Keris Mas and Kolej Rahim Kajai. But being 5th over 12 colleges was still awesome I might say.
At the end of orientation week, I was chosen to become the emcee for our college's dinner. It was definitely a great experience. I also made a few new friends from my college which is like totally awesome btw :)

Debat Piala Naib Cansellor :)

L-R : Amy, Lala, Nisa and Ad :)
2nd week:
Now the second week is mostly about getting to know my classmates and where the classes are and all. I'm proud to say among the 30 political science students, 14 of them are all from UiTM law foundation program. One of my lecturers has enlighten me a little bit about my course. He told us among the thousands who applied, only 30 lucky students were chosen to pursue this course in UKM. I was like WOW, he's right. So consider me lucky to be among the 30 Political Science students to be chosen. He also told me, that just because you're pursuing PoSci, it doesn't mean I can't continue my studies in law. In fact, I can actually pursue my Masters in International Law. Its gonna be hard for me to pursue PoSci without having a strong basic on politics, but then again what's life without challenges? So since my application to pursue law keeps on getting turned down, I'll try giving political science a go. Who knows, I might actually be good at it? InsyaAllah :)

FSSK girls (L-R): Ayu, Fiqa, Shafira and Amaa

PoSci girls: Ruby and Amaa

From UiTM to UKM: Izham and Amalina
During the second week, I also lost my boyfriend. What I mean is, I broke up with him. We've been through a couple breakups before. But none was as long as the one we just went thru recently. He 'accidentally' asked for a breakup from me on Monday and immediately asked for me back a few minutes later. But me with my ego told him no. He worked so hard asking my friends/his friends who were nearby to help him out. Oh, he was in Terengganu at the time btw. On Thursday, Bobby, Shah and Nami took me out for late supper, and suddenly he sat at our table. I swear my heart sorta stopped beating when he sat beside me. Lost for words I was. Shocked that there he was in Bangi. He came with a bouquet of roses and asked for me to take him back. After a while, I did. So we've been together for 11 months and I'm hoping for more  months with him. The break up somehow made us a little stronger I guess. :') But yeahh, his actions was a great surprise. I for once felt like a princess. An appreciated princess. Oh gosh! HAHA

The way to win back a girl's heart ♥
Well I guess you can say I'm adjusting pretty well here. Hope it stays this way. Amin Amin :) Till then Monsters! Toodles xoxo

Hijabista September 2012 issue

Remember a few posts back, I posted a photo and wrote there 'Coming Soon' or something like that? Well, soon is here. LOL What a sentence. But here's the story. Last month (July) I went to Karangkraf in Shah Alam. Its a well-known publishing company that prints famous novels and magazines. I was lucky enough last month to be given the opportunity to be featured in Hijabista, a magazine by Karangkraf for the DIY segment. In this segment, I give a 6-step tutorial on how to wear a shawl style. Wore a few shawls from Lana Styles to create 'the look'. It was an experience worth remembering. Its not everyday an ordinary girl like me gets to model in a magazine right? So here are a few raw photos and the final result. :)

Lawmate, roommate and rising model, Amirah Filzah :)

After the shoot. yeapp. Look at me in makeup ;)

This is one of the models from Anggun Zara, Syaheera. Isn't she pretty? :D

TADAAAA! Result!
So go get Hijabista September 2012 issue out now! and here's the link to my Instagram if you wanna like the photo. (as if) HAHA. Much love everyone! and Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir dan Batin xx
