The Significance of Alang

Well you know my name is Athifah Ain ALANG. As I grew up the name Alang has been a name to make fun of. Till today, some people call me Alang just to bug me or annoy me. It is a part of my name though Alang is not my father's name. It's my grandfather's name. All my sisters, uncles, aunt and cousins on my dad's side holds this name. Honestly, I shouldn't really be upset when people call me Alang. I'm not trying to brag, but my grandfather is a well-respected man. I remember doing a folio for my History project in Form 1 where we had to write about the person we idolized. I wrote an essay of my grandfather and all of his achievements. I should be proud that I have a lil part of him in my name. :) Though that, that is his name. Not mine. Mostly that's why I don't prefer people calling me Alang. My name is Athifah and that is what I liked to be called not Alang, nor Ain. Hihi. xx
